NYFW highlights YEEZY season 3
Forget all thing New York fashion week and everything in-between. This is right here is for Ye.
Usually I'm heavily immersed in fashion week... but I seem to have fallen off lately. However, you know, Yeezy Season 3 was dropping so I was on job. But Kanye didn't just drop and new album. KANYE sold out Madison Square Garden with tickets that were available for the debuting of The Life of Pablo and Yeezy Season 3.
Can we talk about KANYE?
Collection Wise:
Firstly Szn 3 bangs I meannnnnnnnn deep it #CozyBoys. There is this one jacket I fully appreciated but know in my heart (and in my bank account) I cannot secure...
Secondly, Kanye's love for the homeless aesthetic, shredded clothes (also known as distressing) and oversized winter garms proved to be more than a repetitive look. This collection evolved in many ways. Through colour-blocking and the use of selective prints, it allowed Ye to be more imaginative when using fabrics and styling.
Nevertheless what I really want to talk about is Kanye, a hypocrite and egotistical as he may appear to be (which owners of Twitter fingers didn't hesitate to line up their seats to bash Ye's about his recent tweets, in comparison to the expensiveness his collections...) he has made and difference. I repeat KANYE has made a DIFFERENCE!
Fashion & seats to the fashion week shows aren't available to everyone... The industry claims to be for & inspired by the people. But is it really? *Side eyes in culturally appropriated*.
I truly live for fashion week... that's from my bed and laptop because shows are hella expensive... Designers want to share their work with us consumers but we can barely get to the shows. I mean unless you download that shitty periscope app (rubbish quality btw, android snapchat users have better images tbh) and/or add Alexander Wang on snapchat???
Take a moment for Kanye did something special; he brought fashion to the people. He made the viewing of his collection accessible... well that's if you lived in New York. Though you're dickhead (in my opinion) to have paid to watch the screening of the debut @ Vue cinema in Wood Green... I mean tidal streamed it for free... But hey I guess the atmosphere would've been lit with;all those Kanye ball suckers, ass lickers and dick riders talking about how high fashion they are because they copped a pair Yeezy's... *displays signs of jealousy due to broke-ism*.
Kanye made a statement. It's arguable that only niche group of rich people; who can actually afford the clothes would enjoy fashion week since it's not even close to a stretch in their bank accounts. But for people like me who have yet to blow up on social media and get personally invited to such events, it's a moment to remember... forget everything else that is negatively Ye associated because this is important. Amen
